Xfinity, Watchathon Party
To celebrate Xfinity’s 7th annual Watchathon Week and the final season of Game of Thrones, we invited consumers to venture to the Hammond Castle in Massachusetts, to kick off the first episode of Season 8. We decked out the castle with decorations, a throne like the one Daenerys used, show-themed activities and more. To make the night accessible to all, we invited fans at home to tune in through a Twitter livestream. Viewers were able to throw out live Q&A questions to the hosts, and got a special appearance from weapon’s master Tommy Dunne, who crafted nearly all the weapons in GOT.
Results: Our livestream garnered over 7 million views in the span of one hour, exceeding Twitter’s benchmark, and setting the new standard for future experiential events.
